Dear Parents and Children,
We live in an evil days when children are confronted with sins that parents knew little or nothing about when they were children. There is not better protection against these vices than the spiritual and moral teachings of the word of God. These Courses are designed to help parents and children alike and to preserve them from these evils.

BIBLE VERSE: "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved" Acts 16:31

Dear Friend,
I want to tell you about the most wonderful place. It is called HEAVEN. This is where God lives. The Lord Jesus lives there also because He is God's Son. The best way to tell you what heaven is like is to tell you about some things that will be there, and some things that will not be there. FIRST, let me think of some things that will not be there. There will be no church buildings in Heaven, because God Himself will always be with His people there. We now have the sun and the moon, but we won’t need them there. The glory of God will be our light. There will never be any night in Heaven. It will be bright and pretty all the time. "But wont we need to rest sometimes?" you might ask. No, you will never get tired and you will never need a rest. Our hearts are very sinful. Sin is what we do that is wrong. No one will be in Heaven with a sinful heart. There will be no sin in Heaven. Here little boys and girls are crying. God is going to wipe away all tears in Heaven. There will be no crying in Heaven. Here, we have graveyards and undertakers, but there won’t be any death in Heaven, so no graves or funerals, no one will ever die.

NOW let us think of some things that will be in Heaven. We know there will be many angels in Heaven. They are God’s servants. They live there. The Bible is God's Word. It will never pass away. It will be in Heaven. There is another book called "the Lamb's Book of Life." The Lord Jesus is called the "Lamb of God." and this is His Book. When you trust the Lord Jesus as your Saviour, He writes your name in this Book. All whose names are written in that Book will go to Heaven. Those whose names are not in this Book will not go to Heaven.

In the Garden of Eden, there was the "Tree of Life." This tree will be there. It will bear twelve different kinds of fruit. Think of it! Twelve different kinds of fruit on one tree. There are beautiful mansions or homes in Heaven for those who have trusted the Lord Jesus as their Saviour. Jesus said, “In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so I would have told you." John 14:2. The Bible tells us that the street of Heaven is of pure gold. What a beautiful place Heaven must be, even the street is of pure gold. There are crowns in Heaven. God has promised a crown to those who love and serve Him. But the most wonderful; thing about Heaven is the Lord Jesus Christ will be there! We will see our Saviour who loved and died for us that we might go to Heaven.

Now we have some wonderful news for you. God wants YOU to be in Heaven with Him. He loves YOU!! No matter who you are, or what you look like, or where you live, God loves YOU and wants YOU to be in Heaven with Him. We have talked a lot about Heaven. Now let us think about God.

Have you ever wondered what God is like? God is so great and so wonderful that we can never know all there is to know about Him. But in His word, God has told us many things about Himself. The Bible tells us there is only one God, but He is in three Person - Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Each of these three Person is God. The Father is God, the Son is God, and the Spirit is God; yet they are ONE God. We cannot understand this, but we know it is true because it is taught in the Bible. The Bible tells us many things about God. Let us think of some of them.

Do you wonder why we cannot see God? The reason why we cannot see God is because He is a Spirit-Being, and we cannot see a Spirit- Being. You have a body which we can see. You also have a spirit that we cannot see. God is all Spirit. He does not have a body like we have, but He is a living Person, and is very great. God knows all things. He sees and hears us all the times. He knows all that we say and do. He even knows what we think!!

This means that God is all light and glory. He is pure and perfect and without any sin at all. THE BIBLE SAYS, “God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all." 1 John 1:5. Because God is holy, He hates sin. Nothing bad or sinful can ever come near Him. It would be destroyed by His brightness and glory. God once spoke to the prophet Isaiah in a vision. A vision is something like a dream. Isaiah saw a vision of God on His throne. Around the throne were many angels, praising God and saying, “Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of Hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory." Isaiah 6:3. When Isaiah saw the vision he was afraid, for he saw that God was holy. Isaiah saw himself as very sinful before God. He fell on his face and cried out, “Woe is me! For I am undone. . ." Isaiah 6:5. We, too, are sinful, yet God wants us to come to Him. He loves us and has made a way for us to come into His family.

You and I live in bodies, and we can be only in one place at a time. Because God is God, and is a Spirit-Being, He can be everywhere at the same time. No matter where we are, God is there! A little child who is left alone in the dark can be told, "God is there."

This means God always does that which is right. Because He is righteous and just, He must punish all sin. God cannot overlook our sins or pretend that He does not know about them.

The Bible says, "God is love." This means that God loves us and desires only what is best for us. Because God loves us so much, He wants us to love Him. Some people think that God hates them because of their sins. It is true that God hates sin, but He does not hate us. He loves us. In fact, He loves us so much that He gave His Son, the Lord Jesus, to die on the cross for our sins. THE BIBLE SAYS, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but has everlasting life." John 3:16. When we believe that Jesus died for our sins, and trust Him as our Saviour, God forgives us for all our sins and makes us His child. Isn't that wonderful! Right now, why not thank Him for loving us so much that He gave His Son to die for us.

God loves me and wants me to be saved

These are two of the ten laws which God gave His people. They tell us what is right and wrong in God's sight. These laws were first written on two flat stones and given to Moses by God. God wrote them Himself, with His own finger. How important they must be!

"Ye shall have no other gods before Me." Exodus 20:3 There is only one true and living God. We are to have no other gods except Him. We are to love God more that we love anyone or anything.

"Ye shalt not make unto thyself any graven image" (idol) Exodus 20:4 We are not to make any images or idols to represent God. We are not to bow down to them nor serve them. God hates all idols because they rob Him of all the worship and worship due to Him. There are other kinds of idols in our lives. What ever come first, or takes God place is an idol.

Wendy closed the door quietly and tiptoed over to the teacher's desk. Now, if she could only find that list! It had on it all the names of those who were to sing at the Retirement Home next week. "Oh, I hope my name is on it," Wendy whispered to herself. Quickly she began to hunt among the papers on the desk. At last she saw the list under the edge of the blotter. Wendy pulled it out and her name was not on it! "Mean old teacher," Wendy muttered, tears stinging her eyes. "She knows my granny is in that Home. And I want to go and sing especially to her." With an angry jerk Wendy torn the list in half and pushed it deep into the trash can. Then she rushed out of the room. "Wendy, stop!" Wendy turned slowly. Her teacher, Miss Wilson, was coming out of the office. "What are you doing here, Wendy?" she asked. Wendy's heart pounded as she said, "I--I went back to put a book away." "Well run on home now. You know you shouldn't be here," Miss Wilson said impatiently as she hurried off. With a sign of relied, Wendy left the school and ran toward home. Her brother Brian was swinging on the gate, watching for her. "Bet you had to stay in," he said with a grin. "I did not," Wendy answered, trying to push past him. "Is Mother home?" "No," Brian said scowling. “And Mother and Daddy are going away tomorrow as usual. This time you are to stay with cousin Janice. But I have to go to dull Uncle Bill's again." Wendy looked at her brother's unhappy face. He was only a year older than she was. It didn't seem fair that he had to spend so much time at Uncle Bill's gloomy home. "If only Granny still live there," Wendy thought sadly. "Then Brian and I wouldn't have to stay with relatives so often."

The next day the hours passed quickly as Wendy and Janice played together. When they were getting ready for bed that night Janice said, "Tomorrow we go to Sunday School and church. It's really great! You will like it a lot." Wendy wasn't sure about that. But the next day as they entered the Sunday School class room she saw what Janice meant. The teacher was young and cheerful. The other girls seemed happy and eager to begin. "Today we are going to learn about a wonderful place called heaven," the teacher began. "Heaven is God's home. God lives there. His Son, the Lord Jesus, lives there too. It is a very beautiful place and it is full of joy. The reason it is so happy a place is because there is no sin there. Nothing mean or bad can ever get into heaven. No one will ever get sick there. And no one will ever die." Wendy nudged Janice. "It's not a true story," she whispered. "Everybody dies. You know they do." Janice shook her head. Then she held up her hand and asked. “Teacher, this is true story, isn't it?" "Yes," the smiled as she answered. "It is all written in God's Book, the Bible. Best of all, we can all go there to live." "How?" Wendy asked the question without thinking. "It is like this," the teacher explained. "We are glad when our name is written on a special honour roll. But the most important place to have our names written is in the Lamb's Book of Life. This book is in heaven. It belongs to the Lord Jesus. All who have their names written in this Book will go to heaven. Jesus will write your name there when you take Him as your Saviour from sin."

The teacher held up a large sheet of paper with a Bible verse on it. The verse is found in Revelation 21:27. It tells us that all that do bad things and tell lies cannot go to heaven. Only those who have their names in the Lamb's Book can go to heaven. She told the class to read the verse aloud, Wendy sat very still. She had suddenly remembered the torn sheet and the lie she told Miss Wilson. "It's no use," Wendy thought, "I didn't get my name on the list at school. And now Jesus won’t put my name in His beautiful book, either." Wendy was so trouble that she didn't hear another word the teacher said.

Right after church Wendy's father came and hurried them into the car. "Janice," Wendy whispered as she was saying goodbye. Can a person who has told a lie ever get their name in God's Book?" "Yes," Janice answered quickly. "If they confess it, and say they are sorry, Jesus will..."Just then Wendy's father started the car and Janice's words were blown away as the car started forward. Wendy leaned back with a sigh. "Did Janice mean I would have to tell Miss Wilson that I lied to her?" Her head was full of questions. She glanced at her father but his mouth was set in a grim line. He doesn't like to answer questions anyway," she thought. "Only Granny ever had time to answer questions. I just got to see her. And I will go with that group next Friday--somehow!"

Poor Wendy, What will she do about the list? Will she get to see Granny? Don't miss the next chapter in lesson two.
